Having honed their culinary skills at countless community events, they shared a dream—a dream whispered by the locals themselves: “Why not start your own barbecue business?”
The Community’s Nudge
The community’s encouragement was the secret sauce that ignited their entrepreneurial fire. Malik and Timeka knew they had something special—their barbecue was more than food; it was an experience. And so, fueled by ambition and a dash of smoky inspiration, they embarked on their flavorful journey.
Pre-COVID Launch
In the early days of 2020, just before the pandemic cast its shadow, Big Mac Wagon BBQ LLC rolled onto the scene. Their hot dog carts, adorned with rustic charm, became a familiar sight at parties, fundraisers, and local gatherings. The sizzle of sausages and the wafting aroma of slow-cooked meats drew hungry crowds like bees to honey.
A Rocky Start
But fate had other plans. COVID-19 descended, and the shutters came down. Malik and Timeka faced uncertainty, their dreams seemingly marinated in setbacks. Yet, they refused to fold. Instead, they pivoted—delivering their mouthwatering meals directly to doorsteps, keeping the fires burning even during the darkest days.
Timeka’s Southern Roots
Timeka, with her South Carolina roots, brought a secret weapon: her grandmother’s age-old spice blend. The seasoning danced on taste buds, invoking memories of backyard barbecues and family reunions. It was more than flavor; it was a connection to heritage—a pinch of love in every bite.
Malik’s Culinary Alchemy
